It’s about having artistic integrity not doing things because you think they would be big, but because the message is something that’s important. The chorus is about doing things for fun, for free, and doing them for the right reasons. Lana spoke more about the chorus of “Yosemite”: It’s about the way relationships change over time, and Lana sings of no longer being a “candle in the wind” (a phrase she later used in her 2018 single, “Mariners Apartment Complex”). In an interview with Elle UK in 2017, Lana described “Yosemite” as beautiful. Lana deemed it “too happy” for the record, so its inclusion here may mean this will be her cheeriest album yet.

The video ends with a horror movie vibe, perfectly soundtracked by the song. They might be werewolves, secretly wild despite their tame country club surroundings. Instead, Lana and her fellow friends - dressed in diamonds and pearls, just like her - appear in a forest, their eyes glowing in the night. She doesn’t end up on a yellow-brick road, though. Eventually, Lana seems to be swept up in a tornado, much like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. Different scenes and images flash by, interrupting the narrative and bringing a rising tension. But just as the lyrics form a sort of merry-go-round, so too does the video. Lana drives in an old red car, overdressed in jewels and lace gloves as she heads to fancy country club. The new music video brings much of this imagery to life. The lyrics are a merry-go-round of simple moments made unconventional or glamorous: coffee by elementary schools, wearing jewels in swimming pools, Lana and her sister acting chill at the country club under a sky marred by airplanes’ cloudy trails. Lana professes that she’s not unhinged, unhappy, or bored she’s just wild. The verses are more sparse, with discussions of her astrological chart and her state of mind. The new single opens with its lullaby-like chorus, gentle and lulling over piano. Following “Let Me Love You Like A Woman” last October, fans can now enjoy “Chemtrails Over The Country Club” before the album drops on March 19th. Lana also shared the album’s title track, along with a wild music video. Today, Lana confirmed its release date, unveiled the album cover, and confirmed the tracklist.
